Want to see the greatest race ever? Here it is, the men’s 1500 Olympic final in Paris. Cole Hocker, known for his kick, roared by one, two, and ultimately three great runners down the stretch to win the gold medal in an Olympic record 3:27.65.
The gold medalist in the 2021 Olympics, Jakob Ingebrigsten, took fourth place today but with a faster time than his winning effort in Tokyo.
This race featured a battle between testy and outspoken rivals Ingebrigsten and Josh Kerr, a very quick pace, and a mad sprint superior to any in Olympic history. Hocker, amazingly, sliced three seconds from his personal record to nip Kerr, who’s also a noted kicker. Yared Nuguse took third place.
