Spurs Fall to Unprecedented Comeback by Knicks
June 11, 2026
I know we’re supposed to be good sports but this Spurs fan is still seething that they squandered a 29-point lead in the second half last night and lost by 1 to the Knicks, who must be credited for forcing the Spurs into taking endless bad shots during an abject 30-point half. Congrats to OG Anunoby for a great block and tip to complete the comeback.
Let’s remember, especially if you like the Sacramento Kings and their former star De’Aaron Fox, that the usually fleet point guard has been playing on a sprained ankle for about a month or at full speed he might have clinched the game Wednesday in Madison Square Garden. But he absolutely should not have tried to make a layup and instead should have simply dribbled and moved as time expired. The series would have been tied 2-2. Now, after the above mentioned heroics of OG Anunoby, the Spurs trail 1-3 and are simply not going to beat the Knicks three straight. Ergo, the New Yorkers will soon be lifting their first title trophy in 53 years.
What the hell. This is just entertainment, anyway, but unanticipated negative results can sting quite a bit.
